ΣΥΝΤΟΜΗ ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ
Together the three Dutch universities of technology ? Delft University of Technology, University of Twente and Eindhoven University of Technology ? offer the advanced, post-graduate, design program in chemical engineering. This two year, full-time designer program results in a Professional Doctorate in Engineering (PDEng) degree. The level of the PDEng education is post-MSc and differs from the conventional 4-year research oriented PhD studies as it is focused on solving complex real-life industrial tasks. The technological designer program was initiated at the request of the Dutch high-tech industry that needs professionals who can design and develop complex new products and processes and offer innovative solutions. During the first year of the PDEng education the trainee gains extensive knowledge and experience of the latest design methods and their applications, while learning to work in interdisciplinary teams and developing his professional skills. The second year is spent on an individual design project during which the trainee designs an innovative industrial product or process for an industrial client.
